Arnold San Miguel of Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) visited our club. SCAG involves six counties in Southern California including San Bernardino. He discussed the federal governments mandate to develop a Regional Transportation Plan. This plan is a long range plan for providing a transportation vision for the counties it serves. Critical to this plan is the projection that cargo growth will increase 36% while there is only a 2% growth plan for the freeway system. One solution may be for expanded rail capabilities.
