Our speaker last week was past district governor Sal Briguglio. Sal spoke to the general membership on the goals being set for new members in our club. A task force committee has been formed including Sal Briguglio, Joe Bert, Rich Fletcher, and Ron Sakala. This year our club has set a 25 new member goal, however with these members comes a responsibility of all members to nurture and guide these members to their responsibilities as a Rotarian. It is the responsibility of the sponsors to acclimate these members.
Some of these responsibilities are Introductions during meetings. Sitting with your sponsored member. Guiding these members on their red badge obligations. Encouraging them to get involved in the workings of our club.
Sal also reminded the club of it's obligation to attend 50% of the meetings and that a letter will be sent out on the 3rd missed meeting asking the status of their membership. After 4 missed meetings without contact the Board may elect to dismiss this member.
